    YIPPEEE...Our First Egg

    Welp, either the stress of their moving is over or one of em just couldn't hold it back anymore but I came out to check the nest when I got home and guess what!! I got an egg!! so what now? The kids had a blast "finding it" but I cant wait to find some more and hope the other hen starts laying.

    They all seem to be healthy but with not knowing their history it has made it a little stressful making sure they continue to be healthy. With all the illness I have read about I am afraid im going to kill my whole flock lol

    Sorry I don' t seem to have a pic of the other hen but can post one tomorrow. Here is a rooster shot though.He has had some issues with this rear and had some cloggage I had to get out. Not fun!

    sorry diddles are just a name for chicks here. here is a pic of the hens.Ones comb is smaller than the other and the one with larger comb is darker red. I believe I have read that this is a sign of maturity and layingness

    I'm sure this has been shown before and can be easly improved upon but here is my take on a DIY plastic coffee can feeder. My birds aint taking to the DuMor Crumbles so I will have to update later on about its usability from the flock.
