after having my 3 week old flock wiped out in a single night I have come to the conclusion... I new a new coop. I have a 9'x9' concrete pad to work with. but is it better to build an elevated or ground level coop? does it even matter as long as it s tight? i want to be able to keep more than 12...
just got done dropping rat bait down holes in gap at edge of concrete. found these holes the other day with blood and feathers leading to them. hope they like their treat. after walking around and looking over the pen where the crime took place i determined i need to build new coop else where...
Nope no tracks just concrete floor. Just ALOT of blood where they were and where the rats or whatever took them through the walls. I still can't believe the 3 week old chicks got through those holes. I don't think a golf ball would fit through them. The chicks were actually pretty big and boy...
