The snow fence idea got me looking into what our farm hardware store carries and I think I found just the thing. 14 gage wire fencing 5' tall 100' roll ... $146CDN. Fence spacing is 4"x2" ... So smaller than the Cattle panel. This should work and save me a ton. If I used snow fence or...
Thanks guys ... though we are not a fan of the round up use we are unfortunately not at the point where we can take over farming the land ourselves and do it without spray. We have fields on basically all sides so we can't really move away from the soy crop. The good news is that they are...
Thanks ... I was hoping the cattle panel would work. I read once that people clip wings to discourage fence jumping ... What are people's thoughts on that. We really want free range chickens ... But also want to keep them out of the sprayed cash crop fields and vegetable garden near by.

Thanks drumstick diva. I've heard the new roundup dissipates quite quickly and absorbs quickly into the plants it's sprayed onto (including the soy crop). We try to avoid the fields after they have been sprayed for a few days. We do not have a well ... We are on cistern with city delivered...

I...
Hi all ... Never in my life did I think I would write these words ... "what an awesome chicken website"!
My wife Mary and I purchased a derelict farm on the Welland River in the Niagara region of Ontario Canada. We spent two years clearing the land and then three years building what I think...
