Corid is available in both liquid and powdered forms. The protocol for the liquid is as follows. 2 tsp of corid per gallon of water for five days. This needs to be their only source of water, made fresh daily. 7 days off, then tsp of corid per gallon of water for five days. This needs to...

    Help!! Stumbling, stunted growth, lethargy

What does their poop look like? Have you considered treating for coccidiosis? You treat with Corid that you can buy at tractor supply. Coccidiosis in Chickens is a common and potentially deadly parasitic disease caused by protozoa of the genus Eimeria. These microscopic parasites infect...

    Possible Injury or Illness?

Sorry for your troubles. Rest and maybe some vitamins to boost her system may be all she needs. Hard to tell b/c she is not presenting any real issues. Do you have a heat source for the chick? She needs one. I like the idea of getting it a couple of buddies so it it not lonely. Good luck.

    Swollen eye

Children's benadryl can be given, but I do not know the dosage. Perhaps someone else will know. You can also put terramycin (or non-pain relieving type of triple antibiotic ointment) into the eye to sooth the irriation. @Wyorp Rock @Eggcessive ?

    Paralyzed chicken?

Nightshade plant stems and leaves are poisonous to chickens. Nightshade plants are poisonous to chickens due to the presence of toxic alkaloids like solanine and chaconine, which are concentrated in the leaves, stems, unripe fruits, and green parts of plants in the Solanaceae family. Toxic...

    Paralyzed chicken?

Mites will suck the life right out of a chicken. That should be first priority. Dust with a permetrin power. Concentrate on vent and under the wings, but make sure it gets down to the skin. If she has mites, then the entire flock should be treated along with the coop/run. Discard/burn all...

    Paralyzed chicken?

I am so sorry for your gal. I have no idea and will tag someone who might be able to help. In the meantime - what is her diet, including all treats? Have you tried to give vitamins? Have you checked her over for mites? What do her poops look like? @Eggcessive , any ideas?

Need help advice possible hawk attack injury

Yes, as @fldiver97 says, a heat source. One it can get under and away from if needed. A brooder plate is best, but a heat lamp will work at the right height. Thanks for taking this baby in!

Just for reference, here is a picture of some of our Black Australorps at 10 days old. Also, you will need some starter/grower and chick grit for that baby if you don't already have some. Layer pellets have too much calcium and probably not enough protien. Just giving some info.

BTW...it looks like a little Black Australorp. And it looks younger than 4 weeks. Maybe 7-10 days, if that.

Is the wound deep, or is it a skin tear? My question is really are any of it insides visible? If it is a simply laceration to the dermis (outer, middle or even inner - i.e., fat layer) you can just wash it with either a clorhexidine solution or iodine solution. Pat dry the area. Cut the...

    Aggression toward recently introduced chickens

Chickens can be brutal. I have 6 girls going on a year old that I introduced to my flock as chicks. The big girls still assert their dominance, but rooster settles most of the disputes. He goes to roost early on, so the big girls chase the littles off the feed trays at the end of the evening...

    Is this a prolapses

Looks to be. It also look like it is drying out. It needs to be kept moist with ointment or by other means. She also needs a calcium citrate 400 mg plus vit d tablet once a day for 5-7 days to help bring that back in. @Wyorp Rock ?
