Hi, I have had my 18 turkey eggs in for 7 days tomorrow. I plan to candle them. I am wondering if it is O.K. to fill my incubator with other eggs for the rest of the time. Will the turkeys harm the other chicks at hatching time? Or would they all be O.K.
So I checked the humidity on the turkey eggs I have in the incubator now and it was over 90, so that probably was a problem. I've opened the vents and have brought it down to under 60.
See how this goes.
I don't have a humidity guage and I was late in taking the eggs off the turner and filling the second tray with water. Later it was high enough it was fogging up the windows completely. Do you suppose maybe I should have filled the second tray sooner and would have made a difference?
I just hatched a batch and had 18 chicks alive. 19 fully developed but not hatched. 2 of the 19 started but didn't finish. 3 rotten. Any suggestions as to what I may have done wrong or should do differently.
