    How is your flock today?

    Hello My flocks doing Great! I live in Southern California and they were able to see some very rare snow in our yard yesterday morning. I wished I could of taken pictures but I had to work. I only get to enjoy my chickens in the afternoons and weekends.

    Comment by 'Marstar' in media 'Just got these babies yesterday 03/10//14 from Tractor Supply. Does anyone know what kind of chicken they are? I've never seen anything like the brown ones. The black chickens have a lighter colored throat, yellow in one, dark in the other. The black chick with the darker throat also has a red/brown streak across one eye. Very unusual but I am fairly new to raising chickens. Thanks for any help!!'

    It looks like 2 Easter Eggers mauve 2 leghorns and I'm not sure about the darker ones

    Coop size

    I'm currently building a coop for 9 chickens. 3 easter Eggers, 3 Plymouth rocks 1 cooko marrans, 1 wyodette and 1 polish. The size I'm thinking to build is about 4x 5 and 4 feet tall with the nest boat stick out . I'm not sure if this is enought room especially since I may get more later on...

    My chicks are getting ill and has some kind of infectious disease

    I have the same thing going on. My chicks are about 2 weeks old. They have Cocci. It help to buy Corid and replaced the bedding with pee pads everyday.
