Hi all. Haven't been here in ages (tho thats probably a good thing as it means all has been well with the flock!)
Hope everyone is doing well, enjoying spring and their little peepers. We have a broody lady in the flock and are hoping she follows thru and we can get a few chicks the oldto...
I would guess yours is a cockerel.
But I will say my SS pullet developed in a more masculine way earlier than any of our other chicks (except our SS cockerel). If we didn't have one of each sex I would be convinced she was a he. I will see if I can find some pics of them a few weeks ago for...
Yes, they would work for that. Only problem is the remote only works from about 5-6 meters, no further, I think.. So you would probably have to go out to the coop to turn it off/on.
Ours is a solar charger but can be plugged into a usb port/adapter instead. It works perfectly while plugged in...

We had a raccoon incident a few months ago. Its just hard all around when something is killing and injuring your birds. Heartbreak, frustration trying to figure out what is going on and how to solve it, hard work, and...
Look like pullets to me but I'm no expert. They just look a lot like my RIR and BR hens.
On a side note, I love how BR always look like they are grumpy.
Hopefully its not too long a drive. But you are probably right then. If you could take more than one you might improve your odds. Or wait a few weeks and see about getting updated photos. Unfortunately I have had more than one chick surprise me at that age. That said, I think your daughter could...
