Gotcha, Ok. My kids have said she's not holding up her end of the bargain so she might end up in the crockpot. She has an attitude too, so that just adds to the insult. HA!
I will add that the coop that she's in is in total shade for all the day. But, we let them out during the day for free ranging and all of our other chickens lay very well. We don't put any supplements in their feed or anything, just feed laying pellets.
We got an ameraucana chick last spring, 2016, and she laid her first egg at around 7 months of age. She hasn't laid an egg since last November. That's coming up on 6 months.....is this normal with Ameraucana's? Nothing has changed, and she's as healthy as any chicken can be!
We have 5 new chickens that are about 10 weeks old. I built a nice coop and run for them. In the evenings they have finally figured out to go up the ramp but they all sleep on the floor of the coop right at the entrance at the top of the ramp. I have taken the light out since it's plenty warm...
