We have a small flock (compared to the hundreds my dad grew up with in Southern Pines) of 20 or so free ranging chickens. Currently 2 Roos and the rest are different breeds of ladies. My favorite chick so far was a golden
Araucana named Sophia. We built a custom coop and have it attached to a dog lot for a run, but they come and go as they please from daylight to whenever they decide it's bedtime. Our foxhound mix Stewart has watched them grow from chicks, and loves chasing off predators, especially the pair of falcons...
