    Tics on my Chicks

    I was raised to believe chickens ate ticks and other bugs. My grandfather even got more chickens that free ranged in the yard if the ticks got really bad. Is this a myth?

    Thanks for the replies. It’s really helpful. Like I said I’m not really expecting make money just wondering if by selling some baby chicks and eggs I can cover the cost of feed and medical care for my own flock. Basically like a break even thus making my eggs and meat virtually free.

    I’m new to this so please bare with me. I’m not looking to make a fortune off hatching chicken eggs. Just wondering if it is profitable and if maybe I can use this to atleast cover the cost of upkeep for my chickens? Any input would be appreciated!

    Just got into raising chickens. Currently have one New Hampshire rooster two New Hampshire hens and two speckled Sussex hens.
