    We too live in Texas and had the same experience but things haven't improved. It's been a month since the extreme heat ended and we're still getting 3 eggs per day out of 30 hens. Does it take this long to recovery?

    Not safety related but I plan to insulate the walls in the interior of the coop the line walls and floors with frp. That the stuff on the walls of commercial kitchens. It's pricey but stain proof and infinitely cleanable.

    Lights in my coop

    Just finished the coop today 5 week old chick's it there for the first time. I had few a radiator tool they are totally temperate self sufficient. Also I stung up some Christmas lights in the cup so they can see. Mistake?
