Nutrena Country Feeds All Flock 18%

I don’t think that feed exists looking at an amazing list she compiled there but I’ll keep an eye out. @Texas Kiki rocks! Thank you, it was extremely helpful and I learned so much. :clap:love

Thanks GC-Raptor! I’ll have to rethink my feeding a bit for the next couple of months. I was very happy with layer crumbles but since my flock expanded with so many babies and they are all out and about together I wNt to make sure they are all on a proper diet. :thumbsup

I love this thread! Here’s my conundrum: I free range 20 hens and a roo and I have about 40 chicks (4 to 5 weeks old). I hatch my own and my goal is mainly dual purpose birds. I opted for brooding outside with a heat pad and my chicks are thriving. They were separated from adults by a wire until...

Sounds perfect to me! I think I’ll do that, as soon as the sun finds its way back to Texas.

There are a ton of bad resources for chickens on CL but there are honest people trying to sell a few extras every now and again. I don’t even know where else would i buy a hen if i don’t want to do a mail order. Any suggestions?

I have three farmers I got to know through CL and I’m getting hens from them almost exclusively. A few requirements for CL chickens; nothing cheap, I don’t even look at chickens under $15 or $20. If they are posting frequently, I’m not interested (I worry they are doing it for profit). I google...

Here’s the thing; IF I’m getting young hens (not baby chicks) I prefer getting them from families that have a few extra hens running around their yard. Hence my question. I don’t want to mail order a full grown bird or buy from a commercial hatchery. That’s just me, not saying it’s the only way...

Y’all, does anyone have any extra young hens? I’d love to include a few more to my flock before my babies start hatching. Any breed, any mix is great, as long as they are healthy and happy. I’m in Granbury but I’ll happily drive out to you if you are up to an hour, hour and a half away. :wee...

    Peeps in Europe!

Hi everyone, Croatia here :frow I live in Texas, USA but I’m traveling to Europe at least 4 times a year visiting family and I still consider myself a Croat with an American address. I was just there actually, spent some time in Croatia, Bosnia, Serbia and Belgium. My next visit is scheduled for...

Hi there 007Sean, good to be here! I’m from Croatia, moved to the States several years ago, lived all over the country, mostly in NC but decided to hang my hat here in this great State. Terrain, climate and people remind me a lot of home. :)

I was not necessarily looking for another rooster but if yours needs a home where he is going to be given a chance to live and work and not become dinner right away - sure, I’ll take him. I currently have 16 ladies and one roo so he could use another guy. Will he accept him, that’s another...
