No it isn't, but when I check on him he sometimes opens his mouth really wide almost like yawning (which it may be).. should I be concerned??
And yes, it is quite crazy!
Update idk what number this is
Egg 2, the remaining egg is still alive.. though no progress has been made. I've removed some of the membrane, as the veins have receded. But there are still a lot of them.
Update.
Egg 1 wasn't moving. I opened it, and sadly the chick was dead. This could be due to being underdeveloped, but more likely this one also wasn't positioned properly, and wasn't able to pierce the side of the shell.
We are now down to one Egg.
Egg 2. It's still alive!! Taking its...
It is so disturbing trying to sleep and feeling a little beak poking your chest. All this while my cat is sleeping beside me under the covers. What has my life become.
I am leaving it alone, and it wasn't even near a drop of blood! Thank you so much for the feedback though! As of now it's still breathing fine, I'm just letting it take its time now that it can breathe
UPDATE 2.
egg 2 has started pipping. Kind of. It was trying to zip, but didn't even pip yet as it's mispositioned. I poked a hole, and there was a bit of blood. But the beak is now through said hole, and chick is breathing. Bleeding stopped almost right away.
I'm on day 20 of a button quail egg. I only had 3, the one was a dud, possibly the second too. So no others have hatched. Barely any blood, it basically stopped right away. And yes, I've left it be. It is still alive as of now
Chic is breaking through shell, but hasn't used the air cell, and isn't breaking the membrane! I managed to put a bit of a hole where the beak is, and it's now breathing. HOWEVER. it's bleeding a bit. Not much, it's stopped, but there was a bit of blood. What do I do??
