I may have just bought myself some Buff and Buff/Splash? hens off of Craigs List... I so hope that the lady didnt pick up 2 today so I can have all 3 hens... I will find out Monday when I will be calling her back

I love these! I definately will be looking for these around April when our Stock sales start back up. I always take both hatching eggs and eating eggs... perfect for carrying those cartons... how many cartons can you fit in a bag?
I agree we all have hobby farms.... I started mine with sister-in-law and she bailed on me when it got cold, so now I have all the chickens... I currently have 30+ chickens, 2 chicks and 3 in the incubator.... I also have 6 dogs with 2 of my females gonna have puppies within a week or two of...
I have just set 3 Ameraucana/Welsummer eggs in the incubator. I ordered another incubator last night for my hatcher since I have scattered hatches all the time. I cannot wait to see what these chicks will look like. This is the 1st step to my project Olive eggers!! Yay
This is the type of egg candler that I have and it is really good. I have used it on dark eggs, nothing like an olive egg. It is light weight and you can buy replacement bulbs at an home improvement store. I hope that helps!

Well this is the first project for me and my hubby. We right now have a true blue Ameraucana (sp?) hen with a Welsumer roo. I did check the eggs and they are blue, inside and out. When I finally get the olive egg, the small town we live in will not know what these eggs are, lol... I did finally...
Please forgive me for all the questions.... so when I hatch the "olive eggers" then what would I breed with them to keep the olive egg coloring? I am getting 1 of those eggs daily, so when I get some hatched and ready for breeding... would I breed olive egger to oliver egger?? I am slowly...
I have a question... I have a true blue Ameraucana hen and if I breed her with a Welsummer roo.... my ex-partner said that we would end up with some "Olive Eggers". I am wondering if this is true or will I just end up with an EE?? Can someone help me out????
