Our local feed store has been a nightmare. Having sold us 4 cockerels and 8 pullets. Nothing is a gurantee but they also had no idea on what breeds they were selling.
Far back closest to the wall I was drawn to a chick who looked different than the rest. I asked what breed and they had no idea...
Thank you all. Your advice is greatly appreciated. I will take everything into consideration and will find them new homes.. (We have found one so far; A family friend)
Here is Roo (She's a pullet) from the day I first got her. Will have to take an updated pic tomorrow. :) She is now 10 weeks old!
She is fairly skittish and doesn't like to be handled. She was at a farm store in a very small town where they had several old hatchery chicks in one big bin getting...
We couldn't do that!
Thanks for the advice. Will call 4-h places tomorrow. Looks like time to find new homes. :(
Along with being pets they are also our egg layers.
My chicks are now 10 weeks old.... 4 I am pretty sure are cockerels. The other 8 are pullets. 2 "roo" in the morning. My family and I love them dearly. We could not eat them or sell them.
Currently adding finishing touches to our main coop. All of our chickens are in their now and come out...
Is there anything anyone suggests to do? We love them dearly. My brother and sister are in love with them as well. (8 and 9 years old)
Can they not all be together?
Should I go out and by a separate coop?
Our 12 chickens are now 10 weeks old.. 2 we know are cockerels and have started rooing in the morning. We are unsure about our Barred Rocks. Here is a few pictures and one of our Americana Roo's. Hoping they all can stay together. My family and I are outside with them for at least an hour or so...
