You folks add joy to my care of chickens. I used to live in RAmona, CA but moved to Silver City, NM .
This site has been good entertainment and helpful information.
I agree that speaking to the rooster, and confidently "getting to know him", relaxes his protectiveness. Definitely food helps too!
Yes, my rooster was supposed to be a hen, and I was a bit slow in understanding why "she" was not laying. Really happy now.
Yes, we have had similar things happen with our rooster, and he stops fussy hens from spoiling the peace of his flock.
This is just a thought. I do not know how to navigate this site, and don't know if I could follow a response. I'm trying to grow-up! Sure enjoy our chickens! Would like to...
Ventucky chicken is handsome. Is the organic hay "weed-free"? That matters if bringing into the wild. Best wishes to everyone who learns to work this site.
Hello. I'm still learning to navigate here. Renee tells me there is a meet-up. Where please.
Also I am interested in aquiring two Plymoth Rock young laying hens. (7-9 mo)
I have a beautiful, beautiful, large rooster (& - 9 mo old) needing a new home. Interested anyone out there?
I hope I find...
I definitely praise Him for the beauty of our pets, and I pray for them to have good "chicken" wisdom, or "dog" wisdom, etc and for a long life of good health and entertainment for us.
Thank the All-Almighty for all things.
I am looking forward to the Meet-up tomorrow. Perhaps someone would help me understand these posts better. Did someone loose all their chickens? If so, I'm so sorry. How? Where was it posted...tell me tomorrow (Sat in Poway)
Thanks, I plan to be there. We won't melt with a few raindrops. I might be interested in a rooster if anyone has a good crower. They are so magnificent!
The weather report has caused my Sat ride to be cancelled, so I happily can come to the meet-up and , well, meet some of you. I trust the weather will not cause "chickens" to cancel?
I hope I can find where I wrote the address.
