Thanks everyone. I'm still hopeful he is a male but i will still love them just the same. Just wanted to get others opinions. One is nesting and calm where as the other just looks different, acts different and has male tendencies but doesn't have alot of male features. The one I thought was male...
No gobbling yet. The one i was thinking was male does try to strut and size up my roosters. I know where I got the eggs from her males are slow progression like this. So I'm still hopeful but will just have to wait it out.
The one
The one I know is a hen, will rub on the other like she is trying to make what I think is the Jake try to breed her. He is about 2 weeks younger than her though. My roosters will try to breed the hen but not the other.
Hello,
I have to Narragansett Turkeys and they are about 5 months old. I have been going back and forth about what their sex may be. I'm almost 100% positive on the hen which is the lighter color one. She has been showing nesting behaviors lately. The darker one I think is a Jake but just wanted...
I have two brown leghorns. They were sold to me as Ameraucana chickens. The looked identical at first when they were little but once they started getting bigger I realized they were not the same chicken. They were way more slender and didn't have rose combs. I started doing research and realized...
@Hobbits Mommie
Thank you so much for your kind words.
We have accepted the circle of life, even if it sometimes it doesn't make since.
We will keep caring for the two we have and enjoy every second we do have!
Wow!!! This sounds so similar to Mr. wobbles story minus a few aspects. I am so sorry for your loss and people say it's part of raising from eggs.
Yes, I get that but my heart is SO big and seeing them get better and doing so well but yet fall back so so quickly just because I had to leave the...
Sad update:
Mr. Wobbles unfortunately passed away tonight.
Not exactly sure what happened as he was on the right track.
He was perfectly fine when I left the house around 1pm this afternoon but when we got home around 6pm he was acting super strange. He became very unsteady, breathing funny...
I want it at least almost closed some so I know that no infection can get in. I probably could but I'd perfer to keep the antibiotics on. Its drying out really good and is smaller. He also doesn't seem to have any pain or irritation with it.
The left is day 1 after drying. The right is day 3 and it looks kinda yuck because I just applied antibiotics. But it has gotten smaller and he seems to do well. He hears the other 2 turkeys and wants to join them but I want alittle more healing before doing so.
Still getting better everyday!
Almost has a completely normally walk now with strong legs.
He is eating and drinking with no problems.
Swelling is almost none existant. The only thing holding him back right now is the exposed belly button but still treating with antibiotic ointment.
Thanks for...
