Here’s a photo of her, may not be the best and I can’t try to take another. This morning her crop was full and squishy- same as last evening.
I believe her droppings are normal. I will isolate her this afternoon to confirm. She’s eating non-medicated chick starter with grit available...
Hi all, I have a 8 week old olive egger who I think has either sour or an impacted crop. It is very full and squishy but there is no smell coming out of her mouth. Is it possible for her to have sour crop without any smell? What’s the best method to treat her? I noticed her crop went down a...
Hi all, I have a month and a half old Easter Egger who seems to have developed an underbite. She’s starting to seem to have trouble eating the dry crumble feed but can get the mash.
I’m wondering, is trimming her lower beak the best option? Would I need to also trim her top beak? Should I wait...
Thanks everyone! The yolk definitely helped as well as crushing up her food. I watched her go for big pieces and was not able to eat them. She’s currently running around with the rest!
Very helpful - thank you! I’m sorry to hear of the batch you ordered. We ordered 10 and 8 survived. It looked like it was a long trip for them. All are pretty perky except for the small one. Thank you for the miracle water recipe!!
As I gave her another round of egg yolk, I mixed in some crumble and when she tried to go for the bigger pieces, she was unable to eat them. Once I crushed some up and put them in the yolk she was all over it! I’ll give sugar water a shot, too. Thank you!
Hi all, we received a shipment of chicks yesterday and one is quite smaller than the rest, a bit wobbly on her feet and has not eaten. She will drink fine, droppings are watery. Chirps frequently. I’ve tried putting food in front of her but she has no interest. Will pop in and out of the heat...
Thank you so much for all your help; on this thread and others. We finally found an avian vet and unfortunately our Nugget had a tumor. Tough to make the hard decision but glad our girl isn’t in any pain any longer. Appreciate you & this community.
Good to know it's not likely vent gleet that we are dealing with. It is the same hen that I posted in that previous thread.
When you say I should give extra calcium, can I give more than one pill a day? The abx I used earlier this year was amoxicillin. I have given her one calcium pill and the...
I should have mentioned that she has not laid an egg since the summer. She did lay a lash egg a few months ago and we treated with antibiotics and she seemed to bounce back from that. Her droppings are mostly diarrhea but sometimes seem a little bit solid. Not so much hunched back but definitely...
Hi all, my 3yo buff Orpington appears to have vent gleet and has been straining for the past two days. I’ve given epsom salt baths and applied monistat to her vent area. Also been providing probiotics in her water and yogurt. She is separated from the flock and inside. She will perk up...
