Tis the season...and i made the mistake of going to TSC. 12 chicks later...everyone has settled in nicley. Went to the local supermarket and asked for one of their watermelon boxes. They are 3/4 of an in thick. The black thing on the floor...my wifes way of keeping an eye on them when at work.
Everything I know was from doing a google search for "ios 8". I've never been an apple fan...so never got into the iAnything craze. But when my daughter lost 2000 selfies(yes, I admit to laughing pretty hard when she told me) after upgrading, I looked into it.
I did see there was a...
He sure is. Hes really well kept. Hes not malnourished. Doesn't look like hes been running wild for very long. I think someone didnt want him, and left him in the parking lot.
I'm currently going through almost the exact same thing. 25 girls, and 2 boys. As soon as the sun is up, I open their door and let em out. Due to the cold and snow up here in Maine, they don't come out. I have a shovel path from the coop to the driveway. But they just don't like walking on...

I have 5 roosters. 1 white leghorn, 1 wyndotte/red cross, 1 silkie, and 2 bantam frizzles...and they all crow..a lot..all day. I've yet to find a quiet breed. Like mentioned before, the smaller they are the higher pitched it is, and they do crow more often.
we have almost 30 free ranging birds at the moment. We have dogs...and the neighbor has dogs...but luckily, they are all shih tzus and remain indoor dogs. But the noise they make may be a good reason for not having many predators around.
I'm in the far north east...Central Maine to more precise. The only source of heat I have in an uninsulated 8x8 coop, is a submersible fish tank heater to keep their water from freezing. And thats it. My grandfather once told me that giving them a source of heat could hinder their feather...
My coop is right on the edge of the woodline as well. I do have 2+ acres of fresh mowed grass for them to free range on...but, they prefer the tall grass and woods behind the coop. And honestly...thats probably the best place for them. Best place for cover in case of an attack. But at the...
