one of our peahens had her 1 week old peachick with her on the 8 foot high rafters last night. any idea how she would have gotten it there?
also, a couple years ago we had some peachicks crash and burn coming down from these rafters.
should i block them off so that the mother peahen doesn't take...

The last couple days one of our peahens has taken on this posture with the tail feathers raised and the wings lowered. Her energy and alertness all seem satisfactory. Has anyone seen this and if so, does it have any significance? I am concerned that this may be a sign of trouble developing...
my plan is for ~8 weeks in the peacock barn and then giving them access to the flight pen for another month followed by giving them free range. sound appropriate?
