Picked this from the garden today. BYC members helped me keep the Beeps out this year and now instead of eaten plants and vines, we have fruit and veggies!!!

    Arizona Chickens

Hey all! Haven't been on in a long long long while. I lost a few beeps this summer and it made me sad. But having just finished my new run for the two still left, I'm looking to round out the flock again with two or three more ladies! I could grab some chicks from the store but I thought I'd...

Thanks for all the tips! Still no egg laying from the PBR but maybe she's a little broody right now... (She's doing a lot of puffy sitting around the yard) The not sleeping in the coup is still annoying me. The coup is clean and there are no signs of anything strange going on in there... I'm...

Hey all, long time! Hoping for some knowledge. My newly added PBR hen is now an accepted member of the flock. She laid about 4-5 small brown eggs over a week then all of a sudden, she stopped laying all together. Has been about a month without any more eggs. Secondly, all 4 ladies are refusing...

    sicilian buttercups!!!!!

Mine are quite talkative. They make a lot of noise when I go out to fees them and when they've laid an egg. Otherwise they stay pretty quiet. The do like to fly quite a bit so I clip wings. They are small and sweet and actually really good layers. Medium pink eggs.

They also have lots of free space. And no, i didn't introduce her during bed time, should I have??? They just seem to be picking on her. I feel bad cuz she doesn't seem to understand why they don't like her!

How long before my 3 hens begin to accept the new PBR lady into the flock? They're not too nice to her.

    sicilian buttercups!!!!!

I didn't think id be happy with the two buttercups as layers. But my two are giving me an egg per day each (about) and the size is small but not unusable. They are super cute too! Beautiful.

Thanks for the reply about forced vomiting. I didn't realize that it could be unsafe. Everyone online says that's what to do! I'm pretty certain she didn't choke to death or slowly drown. She drank and ate afterward and didn't seem uncomfortable. Good advice for the future. Nobody selling...

So my kids have decided that B2 needs to be replaced. They'd like either a Hen who lays dark brown eggs, or another EE who lays blue eggs. To make for even more colorful cartons! We are looking for a close to laying or already laying girl. Marans, Easter Egger, barred rock, ... Something neat...

RIP Beep2 Something killed her FAST. She came down ill yesterday evening...I brought her inside. She was puffed up and wouldn't move. I felt her crop or was sloshy and rather big. I forced her to vomit. It smelled awful and she perked up a bit. I gave her ACV water and some simple feed. And...

    Silkie thread!

Out of curiosity... This little pink egg came from my Sicilian Buttercup (first egg today!) my curiosity is regarding the size compared to a normal Silkie egg...? Bigger, smaller, same? The egg next to it is from an Easter Egger. The green egg is about the size of a store bought medium to large...

    Arizona Chickens

I'm curious if any other AZ chicken parents have seen a decrease in egg production since the weather changed a couple weeks ago? One of my EE girls hasn't laid but ONE egg in the last week while the other has been every OTHER day instead of daily like before. My Buttercup started laying today so...
