    Just got back from the vet and he agreed with @azygous - an infection of her cloaca. Thank you so much!!! I am very grateful. She is on antibiotics and seems more comfortable.

    I have a New Hampshire Red with a hot, infected moldy looking mass below her vent. She is soaking in Epsom salt but it looks very infected! Please help. I'm new to chicken keeping.
