Hello BYC community!! I’m struggling with my chickens. We have 28 chickens and 3 ducks. We clean the coop regularly, have soft bedding, railings for them to get up and down from the roosts and even cleaned out rocks/sticks/debris from the yard. These are kind of the only pictures I could get, we have another bird that’s starting to lose feathers also so I’m really hoping it’s just molting 😅 I’ve been watching out for blood because we have had that happen before but I haven’t seen any!- Melissa in the PNW

Molting or picked on?
I have a year old hen that I can’t tell if she is molting or if she is getting picked on. This is our first full year of chickens and they haven’t really molted yet since we have had them so I’m not too sure. She is missing feathers on the back of her neck and has no tail feathers. We just covered most of the pen besides where we they can get in and out and we have a roof over it that blocks a lot so good to know!! It is supposed to warm up here in the next few days so just hoping we did enough until then! Thank you again!!!- Melissa in the PNW

Yes we have straw in the coop and then all over the pen since the ground is petty frozen! Thank you for the info about the grain too!!- Melissa in the PNW

I’m in Spokane Washington! And I’m taking Fahrenheit! We have a bundle of random birds! We did an assortment order so being new to this it’s hard to narrow down which is which! We have 19 chickens and four ducks. It very quickly has dropped in temperature to about -10 at night and maybe 3° during the day. Help my poor baby!!
She is still pretty wobbly! Falls over a lot, gets pretty off balanced easily. She is still eating and drinking though! I did some reading and it suggested getting electrolytes for her. But not sure…any advice??- Melissa in the PNW
