I'm very sorry to report that Wanda passed away last night.
I really appreciate all the help and advice you all gave.
I hope everyone has a great holiday season,

Hi everyone,
Wanda is still holding her own. Still eating and drinking. Hanging in there.
I haven't dewormed her yet, partly because it was unclear whether it could harm her if that wasn't the problem. Also, my hubby thinks it's a respiratory problem, not worms. In which case he thinks...
That's horrendous! The Internet gives all sorts of sickos anonymity. Not a problem, I understand.
No I haven't wormed her, but I can go to town today to see if the feed store has either of those.
I only worm my horses when absolutely necessary, because over-use has caused a serious...
So I stuck my middle finger into her vent all the way up to the second knuckle, or a little further (I have pretty long fingers).
No egg.
I had ruled out egg binding earlier because she didn't exhibit many of the symptoms I'd read about. But it's always good to rule things out, especially...
Of course!! No worries, it's getting done. She's taking an epsom salt bath right now.
I guess my sense of humor isn't coming across too well in these posts. Either that or this is neither the time nor place for that right now...
Oh geez...I never thought I'd become a chicken gynecologist!!
I really appreciate you posting those diagrams. I'll see if hubby is willing to assist (he can do the "checking", but only if he's willing).
I know how to diagnose/treat most of my horse and cat health problems, but I'm clueless...
Thank you.
Question: If she is egg bound, then how is it that she seems to be improving (some, or not getting worse) on the antibiotics? Could they help that condition?
