Thank you so much! I feel good about it because it's one of the things I've always wanted to do and just decided to do it. You might be surprised to know that I got a lot of my lumber came from a local distillery that is building new barns and they have a huge pile of wood that they just scrap...
You know, I've never had a lot of luck with my roosters in the past. I had a rooster that I named ducky, which is my profile pic, and he was really sweet and would follow me around everywhere and let me pick him up and pet him. When he started to come into his testosterone, I guess you could...
No it's not my first winter with chickens but it is my first winter with a rooster like this. I've never had any issues or sicknesses (knock on wood 🪵) other than one of my hens had an inflamed preen gland. I would put her in a bath of Epsom salts and rub it with ointment. This took care of the...

Sorry forgot to answer this. I ordered them through the mail. I received 14 and I incubated them. All 14 hatched with no issues.
I'm using a basket with a small soft blanket and a heating pad underneath. I keep it right next to the container I have the mama and other 13 chics in. It likes to be...
I haven't forced any liquids. I only started giving it honey water through a syringe. I had a bead of liquid at the tip of the syringe and I would put it to the tip of its mouth. It would take the liquid that way. I wasn't forcing it.
