yesterday one of my hens seemed like she had diarrhea. I researched and asked around on Facebook and everyone said it was just cecal poops and caused by hot weather (I’m in north Texas). This morning I let out my 2 hens and right now went to check on them 30 minutes later and found this big poop...
I’ve noticed two of my over a year old coturnix quail hens are balding on their backs. They are in a cage with two other girls which are younger than them and they aren’t balding. I checked for mites but I didn’t see any bites, eggs, or any bugs. I’m thinking it is from their age because they’re...
I bought a bag of wheat germ from sprouts because it was on sale. Can I feed this to my two hens and if so how should I feed it to them? Do I cook it or feed it straight up. I intend to feed it to them as a snack/ treat which means not as their main source of nutrients.
Thank you! Just to make sure if I cut the cord close to his butt it won’t make it harder for him to take it off right? Also it shouldn’t bleed or will it? Is it possible they can bleed too much? Sorry for a lot of questions I just wouldn’t want to hurt them more.
My Dominique’s just hatched and it’s my first time hatching chickens. I’ve hatched quail before but have never had this happen. I think the umbilical cord is still attached on two of them. One of them has it hanging out it’s butt and the other has it hanging out and attached to the egg. They...
I haven’t noticed any symptoms while I’ve been out here. I found the dead one last evening but in that morning I checked on them and all were fine. This one that’s bleeding shows no symptoms it’s eating and drinking but no coughing or strange noises. The deceased one is the same age as this one...
This is a quail but I’m posting it in here because no one sees posts in the quail group and I’m panicking. I had one dead yesterday in the same cage as this one with a little bit of blood by it’s nostril and now this one I found bloody too what can this be?
This morning I did my usual routine to check my quail. All were fine and had foood and water. I checked on them rightnow and one of the 7 week olds were dead. There’s no bald spot on the head or any visible injury but I noticed what looks like blood in ONE of its nostrils what do you think happened?
I’m hatching chickens for the first time. I’m on day 15 but I’ve been so focused on making everything perfect for them that I haven’t found a feed. What’s the best feed and how long should I feed it to them?
I’m on day 3 of incubating my quails and I woke up today to check the temp and humidity and the temperature was good but the humidity had suddenly dropped to %19 I like to keep it from 40-50 and it had plenty of water last night is there going to be any major harm? It was probably for like 5-10...
