    October Hatch-A-Long

So far, out of 30, I have 24 left. Last night was day 7 candling. Lost three to blood rings, two were never fertile, and one was scrambled from shipping. I have eggs from three locations going right now! First time hatching! So excited!

    The Great Egg Shipping Experiment!

Yes they did! They were in fantastic shape! All the air cells were still attaches and packing was extraordinary! I'm really excited! Tomorrow will be day 4, I'm impatient but I'm positive about this! :)

What Breed do you think these are?

The lighter one looks more like a lemon cuckoo orpington. The other I'm not sure.

    The Great Egg Shipping Experiment!

Thank you! I've decided to let them rest 12 hours rather than 24 since they were in such good shape. But I have another question for everyone. What is the effects of eggs being shipped on a plane? Considering I'm in Oklahoma and the eggs came from northern California, and they came in just two...

    The Great Egg Shipping Experiment!

I have a question for y'all. I just received my eggs. Shipped on Wednesday and arrived today! I checked and all 18 eggs have no detached air cells! Should I still let them rest the 24 hour rest period? They're in a carton at room temperature with fat ends up. Also, should I wait to turn them...

    Any Home Bakers Here?

It is! It's delicious! Like said above, it has a lot of egg yolks and is usually coated in egg wash. It's braided and gorgeous! It's not that hard either!

***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Wow, that's gorgeous. I love quilts, working on one now, but as we all know, time gets away and it takes quite a while. That one looks like fall, beautiful colors.

I've been having trouble with my incubator, same problem. I may try this, thanks!

    Update (comb) and dilemna!

X2 Definitely agree. Dry, warm air. Clean environment. And definitely try to move during spring or summer, or at least fall. To transition easier for them. They should do fine! Chickens are pretty resilient for the most part.
