So if I were to do a breeder pair to hatch from next year would I keep them on flock raiser for their entire adult life, and supplement the hen during the laying season with oyster shell?
I am trying to decide whether or not to order a couple turkeys for my 4-h project. I already own/show duck and chickens.

I know this is a kind of old thread but I thought I might add something. I ordered 2 lakenvelder pullets from mcmurray and they look just like this, I guess next time I am going to have to order from a breeder.
There are mixed reviews. I personally use it and LOVE it. It also cuts down on smell. Although I havent had mites/lice in my own flock, I use DE as a preventative measure. So I cant say whether it treats it very well.
Some people say DE doesnt help. But if you have it on hand it might be worth...
