What is the best nesting material for boxes?

Is anyone mixing herbs in their nesting boxes? I read another article that recommended Basil and mint.

    Mealworms and other treats

I have found that buying them from local growers or ones that can show or prove what they are growing them helps take the worry out of it. I saw a YouTube video of a guy that built his own growing area out of a three level plastic organizer. He used organic oats and in one month had more...

    PVC Chicken Waterer

The nipples leak maybe not at first but they will after a little while and from everything I have seen they make a mess. The cups are great, the only time there has been a mess is when I overfilled the bucket. I have seen people put them right in a 5 gallon bucket and set the bucket on a block...

    PVC Chicken Waterer

I have made one it does not look exactly like that but close. If you go on Ebay you can buy the cups with the "Y" connectors for cheap like $12. I made mine with 1/2" PVC up to a 5 gallon bucket. My girls' first night outside...

My Girls will be 4 weeks on Wednesday I want to move them to the coop this week. I have everything set up and ready to go, my question is do I need to block them from going in the nesting area until they are ready to start laying? I read that in a book but I have found BYC to be a better resource.

I think they are missing out but the other half I think are glad they are not into the worms, more...
