Backs are getting bare, no feathers?

Sorry yes, I have 3 roosters. :-) And the roosters actually do not look bad, although one rooster has a few black spots on his comb, he is a bit over 3 years old now. Really appreciate your guys help. Russ

Backs are getting bare, no feathers?

Hi Everyone, Ok I am not sure what is going on. Most of my chickens are getting bare backs, no feathers. Looks almost sickly. I give them corn, and pellets from Tractor Supply. Also add vitimins in water once every other month. And they are free roaming so forage the farm aal day. Egg...

    What is getting my birds?

Pretty much leaving the bones, feet, and wings. First was in 2 different spots. 2nd time was all in one spot. Lots of feathers all over the last one, not many the first

    What is getting my birds?

Ok 2 weeks ago I found only 2 feet and 2 wings, nothing else in the field. So I locked up my girls for a few days even during the day. Then started letting them free range again (they are inside a fenced area with our goats). And today I find another gone. This time they left rib cage, feet...

    Is this a good egg?

We had a customer tell us they got a bad egg yesterday. They said it may have had a hairline fracture in shell? So I took a photo because it looked ok to me, but figure I better ask experts. Russ

Old FLock Meet New Flock Meet New Home

How do I get my original flock to stay in the new coop? Seems like they might try and come back to the old coop area (which I am keeping for raising new little ones next year). Now there is a 4' fence keeping them from doing that, but how does one make them understand that the new barn coop...

Old FLock Meet New Flock Meet New Home

Ok I am at a spot where I am lost as to what to do....... Last year we purchased our first little Buff Orph. We have 10 hens and 1 Rooster. They were our only until Nov. when we decided to hatch out a few to "learn the ropes". Hatched 12 and only kept 1 rooster and 3 hens. Now the...

When to put in the new Chicks w/ FLock?

I free range them most of the time, but coop them up at night due to the coyote problem we have. So I think I will just keep em seperate for another couple weeks. BTW will be hatching a few dozen for spring, anyone want some pure Buff Orph? We feed them the best, and they are beautiful birds...

When to put in the new Chicks w/ FLock?

Hi Guys, Ok I have 5 chicks that are about 2 months old now, and want to put them in the coop with the full grown 10 hens and 1 rooster. Is it time now? Do I wait longer? 1 I think may be a rooster (possible 2), so do I have to get rid of those fellas? Thanks Russ

Help! I think one or more are eating eggs

Yes we do let them run around on weekends, and during week when we can. No sign of eggs at all other than the one I caught them fighting over the other day. But other than that no yolk mess in coop at all. Maybe they are laying elsewhere? I cant imagine something getting to them as we seal...
