Thank you! I thought it would be a good time to post an update.
SO a lot has happened!
The first day after my post it was POURING down rain. Theres a very muddy hill to climb up and down to get to our coop (we're building stairs) and with my fractured hips and pregnancy I didnt want to fight...
The coop is now completely cleared out, the sheet metal removed, and the ground raked.
Things of use I found to use on the property and craigslist:
-Lots and lots of wood. We always have an ample supply.
-Lots of sheet rock
-Framed plain wood board
-Sheet Metal
-Old tires
-5 foot by 5 foot...
Sorry for the long post in advance!
I know there is a lot of stuff! I'm 21 weeks pregnant and moving all of that exhausted me. LOL
Chicken-wire is all we currently have, but Im not too worried about predators getting through it. The wire is 5+ feet off the ground on the upper half of the shed...
We're getting our ducklings on Monday or Tuesday. We have a brooder set up, but we haven't got our coop together yet.
We took over my partner's families old property. I'm thankful but it's also been a little bit of a pain because there were so many people living here before us and they were all...
Ancona ducks! I've been obsessed with them for years now. We're so excited.
Im kind of a beginner gardener but I took some articles and compared safe plants for chickens, ducks, and dogs. This is what I've got:
-Dill - great for canning, seasoning, dressings, and meat
-Lavender - dogs can eat...
So cute! We're improving our coop/ run with some bird friendly landscaping and eventually a filtered pond. You have such beautiful helpers, I hope mine will share the same interest [We're picking up our first 15 bird straight run on Monday]
Hello! My partner and I are starting our first flock of french maran x orphington cross chickens along with a flock of ancona ducks. I joined so we could have access to as much information as possible.
