    In Storey's Guide to Raising Chickens p 273 It says when a hen with a sex-linked trait is mated with a rooster without it the cockerel offspirng will inherit the trait but not the pullets. So I'm wondering if the cockerels will be red??

    Egg laying

    Because of the shorter days, I have found providing extra light has helped production of eggs. My golden comets didn't start laying until about 20 weeks and they are a cross of RIR and leghorn.
