    I just looked it up, it does look like the big end is supposed to go slightly up. The one I have they lay on their sides, so I am sure it will workout. Let us know.

    I agree with the others. I will put my eggs in a carton fat side up for 24 hours, then into a self rotating incubator they go. I have always had pretty good hatch rates with chickens, not so much with quail.

    They were just taking their time! Now that one is laying they all will start laying.. At least that is what it seemed like with my girls!

    Dummy eggs helped me a lot. I do have 2 chickens that still do not want to use the nest boxes, but now that is just part of their quirks.

    Hoover hatchery is the only one I have experience with. So far they have not let me down.

    I love when eggs arrive in good shape and well wrapped! I got 21 duck eggs and ended up with 6 eggs after most of them arrived smashed! When I got quail eggs the wrapping was beautiful! =)

    I watered everyday, I just assumed with the florida heat I would need it. I take it as a learning experience now!

    bogtown chick: I started them outside for the most part. I started my zucchini inside and it got so close to growing zucchini. I did get radishes now that I think about it! So not EVERYTHING died!

    Soon2BChixMom: Thank you for the advice! I have been checking out the zone listed on the back of the packages of plants. I did check out the website, I made a list... then unfortunately never looked at it again. I want to grow vegetables (Soooo badly!).
