Yes, I have the thermostat set so the SensorPush thermometer/hygrometer stays between 99.5 and 100.0*F and enough water that the humidity stays between 30 & 40%. And yes, I left them in the garage to settle so they wouldn't cool off and then heat up again.
New quail owner and first time incubating eggs. I ordered jumbo brown eggs from Purely Poultry. They were shipped out on July 6th, arrived on July 8th, then I put bottoms up for about 15 hours in the 100* garage (wasn't sure if I should cool them off in the house before warming them again)...
I was wondering if one breed of turkeys is more quiet than another? I'd love to wake up to a gobble, but I live in a neighborhood where roos are forbidden for fear of noise, so I need to either just raise them and process before they start gobbling or raise a quieter breed. Any ideas?
Thanks...
Thanks so much for the info. I actually saw some muscovies for the first time in person in Hawaii just last month. I couldn't keep my eyes off them. It was a drake and his two ducks. Interesting creatures!
Hi there,
We've had egg layer and meat chickens for years, but we are not allowed roosters due to noise so we can't raise our own chicks. I'd love to start a flock of ducks with the intention of breeding and raising for meat. I have no experience with ducks though. I assume loudness varies...
