I know this is an old post...but how much rust is too much? I have a 2 year old galvanized waterer and although I never used ACV in it, I did use some Rooster Booster (or similar) additive in it (I'm guessing the salt content helped to break down the galvanized metal).

Thank you for the quick response. I'm sorry I didn't actually state a question. We have only had chickens for about 14 months and I am still so new to diagnosing ailments. And when something new arises it scares me...we got the layers for the eggs, but they are so much more than just livestock...
