I started this coop by laying down two 8' 2" x 4"s then putting five 4.5’ ones down in between them. The boards were roughly two feet apart and fastened using two screws in each end.
Next, I added some 2” x 2" s in-between those short 4.5' boards. I alternated them 18" and 16" from the...
Thank you, I think I could probably make this work where I originally thought now that I see this part of your set-up. I was thinking I'd need a much steeper hill. I could probably drain the pond into the emu pen, where there's kind of a ditch that they love to lay in when there's water in it...
You're right, now that I see your ducks in that pond I realize I'm going to need to think a lot bigger. I'm thinking about 10 x 20 ft now. Could I see a picture of the slope where your drain comes out so I can visualize how much of a slope I would need? I may need to rethink where I put this...
I have 14 jumbo pekins that I'd like to give a larger pond instead of a few kiddie pools. I also have 7 geese and 10 Indian runners, but the pond would primarily be for the pekins. I'd like some advice on how to do this. Should I buy one of those plastic ponds and put it in ground, or would a...
I've never seen this before unless the animals are stolen. We had a flock of chickens stolen early one morning last year. Our driveway is 500 feet long, the thieves came through the woods from my neighbors property. Do you think something similar could happen in your area?
Here are the pekins I've chosen to keep. I promise their pen isn't as boring as it looks in the pictures. They have two swimming pools, three water buckets, and a mud hole I can't get to dry up to the left of the pictures and a three sided shelter I've never seen them use to the right. I was...
It would be inhumane to let them loose then do nothing else with them. If you live out in the country, you can let them loose as free-rangers and still provide food and water. In my opinion, that would be fine to do while you try to find someone to take them.
I have been busy. The most recent thing I've done was trade two goats for thirty-two ducks. I've actually enjoyed the ducks a lot more than I thought I would so far.
Something like that. I ended up having to cull those two chicks that hatched out blind, but they did survive with my help for 5 days before they began to decline. Two more healthy turkey chicks hatched out after that, and they're doing good now.
Lori was a little confused. There was a dragon in the desert? She shivered at the thought of being caught in that hot, dry desert. Being stuck out there had been one of the worst times in her life. Why would this Eclipse dragon be out there when they all knew the transports were leaving? Maybe...
