    Charleston, Maine here, new to chicks, but loving them... I have 19, looking for 6 more laying hens to fill the coop. If anyone is downsizing give me a holler, I only have 2 laying right now, the others are too young still, won't be ready till Christmas time, and I want some EGGS.....

    When to start treats?

    My babies were about 4 weeks old when I started small pieces of bread, and now I give them lots of treats at 7 weeks old. Unless someone here (more educated and experienced) has any reason its not o.k., go for it.....

    I was scared to let my dogs in with my little chicks too, my 11 year old poodle was trying to be thier Mommy. (I think). She would go crazy every time anyone went near the chicks, but would often snap at them if they moved quickly. I do let her in the run with me when I'm out playing chicken...
