    Our chicken coop has tinted corrugated transparent panels for the roof. Caught this shot early morning this week not long after sunrise. This silkie baby is one week old today!

    Oh lord, I just read my earlier comment again... his color seems to be mauve. Which is an odd color coming from a barred rock roo and most likely my olive Egger hen (we think cream legbar over Welsummer)

    I’m fairly certain it’s a boy too lol. The three lightest ones all have several roo qualities. The coolest looking one is still that light colored one! He almost looks like a mauve today

    Here’s the father. He’s just a hatchery barred rock. I don’t know that I’ve seen a crested barred rooster lol. It’ll be interesting to watch these mixes grow out!
