I recently married and moved to beautiful Beech Mountain where my husband live to hike, swim, work in our yard, build things....we have a little fluffy black Multipoo pooch a ferocious 4 myth old grey kitten (shes sweet to us and the dog) and we've just adopted a precious 1y/o Brown Tick Hound Dog. I wanted some chickens so 6 or 7 mths ago we got 12 Silkie Bantams. One died shortly after we got it then 3 months later when they were enjoying free range everyone of the hens were picked off by something in the woods. So sad my hubby got me 2 Sebrights then 2 Reds so we could mate them. We're getting many eggs!!
I'm brand new to hatching eggs. I've read a lot but after reading I find a different answer to the same questions. I haven't hatched even one egg. They were mostly hatched on different days I think one is popping but they're all in one incubator and i open it 3x's a day to turn. I've done the float test on eggs i assumed were old enough according to the candle test. The most recent i dated. How can I tell if these sweet babies have survived?
