I think I found a miracle cure for feather picking

Thanks for the advice. I'll keep up the training. It's so frustrating. I put her back in and she was instantly back at the pecking feathers business. She got to where she knew she was gonna get poked, so she would pick and run like the wind. Then a couple of them were chest bumping. Makes me...

@azygous was she picking her own feathers, or the other chick's feathers? Mine is picking at the other ones, so I don't know if this would work or not? TIA

@MeepBeep Thank you so much! In looking further, a popular chicken care blog listed this as one of the "good" weeds for chickens to forage on :)

what is this and is it poisonous for chickens?

Anyone know what this is and if it is poisonous to chickens? This stuff has taken over our lawn, so there's not much grass :(

    Blu-Kote Warning

This is exactly what happened to me this evening with my 3 week old chicks first a bully was pecking at the new feathers coming in, then they all started pecking at the Red spots, so blu kote was applied, but then everyone started pecking at the blue spots! Didn't help my flock :(

I may have found an answer... It's not a pic, but it describes it pretty accurately. Originally Posted by epeloquin It is normal for chickens to have runny poop quite regularly. Read the following... Waste (faeces) The remainder of the material consisting of waste and undigested food are...

Chick has runny poo... kind of brownish orange, does not stink

My chicks are about 5 days old. All are acting normal, but one is having runny poop. She is active and doesn't act any different, and if I hadn't seen her do the poo, I couldn't have guessed which one was doing the runny. Is this normal? I didn't see anything like it on poop chart. It's kind of...

Mama Heating Pad in the Brooder (Picture Heavy) - UPDATE

These are my first chicks, and while we don't have the coop built yet, I have a kennel that we plan on reinforcing with hardware cloth to keep predators out and I hope to complete that this weekend. That will be their home until the coop is finished. But I love your idea and thank you for the...

Mama Heating Pad in the Brooder (Picture Heavy) - UPDATE

First night with this system went very well! ( for the babies, anyway) being a nervouse first time chick mom, I had to get up and check on things in the middle of the night. Babies were all cuddled up under there and sleeping soundly. Temps between 85-98 depending on where the thermometer is...
