Dust and dirt around the water can be a serious detriment to chickies and caring owners alike. For my chickies, and all chicken raisers alike, I would highly recommend a gift of a clean waterer.

Cute quail! But from my experience I'm really no help here, sorry. All I know is that one day my roosters started crowing and the hens just starting henning much more and its been more or less since.

For my backyard chickens I used a (broom)stick and some scraps for an impromptu perch and it made me realize how much they love some good wood! So why not surround them with what they love and keep them healthy, happy and laying?

Cute button quail, Julie! I almost got a couple of them for my relentlessly broody hen sitting on infertile eggs but, thankfully, was cautioned against mixing breeds and she relented. They're a very pretty bird and great pets from what I hear. Nice photos.
