    Meant to check back on this thread sooner but forgot due to Christmas things. Today with an average of 24 all of ours did fine, we did have to bring in two who are alone because they weren't coming out of their house. Luckily now the lowest low is only at 14 which I'm not as worried about...

The lows on the forecast are now more manageable, it did get down to 8 on Tuesday night but now the lowest low is at 14 which is tomorrow morning at around 8am.     You've been an awesome help, thank you so much. What are the chances of frostbite happening? Some of my chickens have larger combs, especially my Austra White. The low of Tuesday is now at 8.

    What's the chance of frost bite on their combs and wattles? I have an Austra White and she has a fairly large comb. As long as they stay dry should they be fine? The low on Tuesday night supposedly at 8 now but it keeps changing.

    Thank you, I think I'm just a little paranoid cause I've never had to deal with temps this low and we had a scare with high heat earlier this year. Not used to the extremes.

    Thank you for the help, I'll try to prevent any large drafts in the area and see if we can find a heated dog bowl soon. We really tried to integrate the different generations of chickens, but it didn't work out for us because some of them were so mean and we had the space so we could get them...

    We don't have a screened in porch, we do have a deck connected to the house but it currently doesn't have railings as we just got it redone. And yes, that 108 day was really hot, felt like walking into an engine everytime I went outside.

    They're always inside when we're not watching. Would love to let them out on they're own but we've got too many predators in the area.

    I don't have any actual pictures on hand right now, but our two larger coops are this one with slightly different nesting box and the ladder coming out into the run instead of under it, the food and water are under the house.
