This chick just hatched a couple hours ago and it seems to flip around in the incubator. It's not standing up, but laying down and when it moves it's usually a flip or turn. Is this normal? How long does it take for chicks to stand up?
I just bought what are supposed to be two BLR wyandottes. One clearly has copper and blue colored feathers but the other has brown/copper and brown feathers. They're both a couple weeks old. Will their feather colors change? I'm concerned about the dark one not having any blue on her.
She's not really eating or drinking and seems very sleepy and unsteady on her feet. Today I gave her egg yolk and medicated water via a syringe every 2 hours. She does eat and drink everything I give her. Right after I feed her she seems to have a little more energy and will sometimes scratch...
I'll be getting chicks soon and I'm told they should be put into the coop until they are 6 weeks old or so. Should I separate them as they grow, or can they all stay in the same tub until they go to the coop?
I would like to help. I live in Concord and in a small neighborhood that has a HOA that won't allow 'livestock' of any kind. I would be working on two fronts, the city and my neighbor HOA. Thanks!
