    "Invisible Fence" for chickens

The tractor thing would be great if we had any flatness or grass or anything. We're in the woods here. Anything much bigger than a wheelbarrow won't work for moving around, anything that requires level ground won't work. Maybe if I hired a professional to put up a fence they could figure out...

    "Invisible Fence" for chickens

I went out and looked at my yard again, and there's just no way to fence it. Way too much space between trees, terrain very uneven, lots of brush underfoot. Even the cheapest fencing material would cost a fortune to cover this much footage, and I'm sure the cheapest would not stay put for long...

    "Invisible Fence" for chickens

Why don't your chickens fly/hop over the fence? What about your driveway, do you use a gate across it? Tall enough that your chickens can't get over it? I think that if a 3-lb chihuahua can handle the shock with no safety issues, a chicken could too. And they *do* work for cats, they sell...

    "Invisible Fence" for chickens

I need to keep my chickens out of my neighbor's yard. We have an "invisible fence" for our dog (not that brand name, but same thing, buried cable around the property, he wears a collar that shocks him if he tries to leave the yard). If I got very small collars for the chickens (the kind used...

Can I have a default setting to subscribe to every thread I post to?

I'm on other forums where whenever I post to a thread, I am automatically subscribed to it. It is hard for me to remember to manually subscribe myself. Is there any way for me to change a setting to automatic subscriptions? TIA

    Name these breeds, please!

Ah cripes. I'll bet you dollars to doughnuts they just let these birds live until they get sick and die. We'll see. I'll tell them what you've said.

    Hello from South Carolina!

Hi all: (I'm posting this in more than one thread; sorry if you've read this elsewhere!) I don't have chickens *yet* but I've been reading about it and would really like to. Problem is, we want to move to York/Lancaster county as close to Charlotte as possible. Seems like the entire area is...

    Name these breeds, please!

Wow, you guys think the brown one is a rooster and the white ones are meat chickens! I can't believe it, all their effort and they likely won't get a single egg? (Effort: building their coop etc... obviously not research.) I will *try* to get better pics but all I have is a camera phone...

New to here from Upstate South Carolina

Hi all: I don't have chickens *yet* but I've been reading about it and would really like to. Problem is, we want to move to York/Lancaster county as close to Charlotte as possible. Seems like the entire area is covered with little houses made of ticky-tacky that don't allow chickens due to...

    Name these breeds, please!

Hello, new here, and I'd like to find out what breeds of chicken my in-laws have. They bought them at a feedstore and do not know the breeds. They got 4 yellow chicks and 4 brown and were told the yellow were egg chickens and the brown were meat chickens. Fast forward a few weeks, and 3 of...
