We got 2 girls a few years back from the red pullet bin! They turned out to be red sexlink girls and are AWESOME egg layers. We get 10 Cornish Rocks (meat birds) every year to process. They get big FAST!

This is a cruddy picture, but I have him labeled in this picture. I agree he is probably a poor quality / mutt of sorts..lol He was the cutest solid chocolate colored chick. I was shocked when the gold spots started appearing.. :)

Also please let me know if you think #3 is not looking boyish to you. His comb has no red, but his legs are thick and he's huge for a banty chick!

Yea #1 has me stumped too. :) Im pretty sure number 3 isnt a golden sebright. I have a little golden sebright pullet and they are two totally different looking chicks. This guy is HUGE for a Bantam and was solid chocolate as a chick. Think he could maybe be an americana mix?

I have only had chickens in the past, but my father is wanting to get a batch of quail & wanting me to go in with him and take half. I have wanted quail, but am totally clueless. I have an old chicken coop/pen (8'x8' run & 8'x4' coop). My question is I have no way to "pair off" the quail once...
