I have a hen in "sick bay" and she's not getting better. About a week ago she was somehow injured, she went from limping to hopping to not walking at all. I have no idea what happened to her, she was free ranging when she got hurt. Her feet look ok, so I am guessing leg? Any tips to bring her...

I hope so too, last year I got a dark brahma roo from them. I hesitated getting the mystery chicks since I already have too many roosters, but I couldn't resist the mystery or the extra chick.

Anyone have any ideas on which breed this little chick may be? It's my McMurray hatchery mystery chick, I've gone through their birds but I don't have a clue what it may be.

My hova is the one causing me problems, I ended up assisting 3 live hatches all dried and stuck, then the 4th was shrink wrapped so bad it must have suffocated to death . My 3rd assisted just finally pushed himself out of the shell, the other 2 look good so far.. I can't tell them from the rest...

I woke up this morning to find a chick with his head popped out of his pip hole. I peeled around the top of the egg to free his head and put him back, but he still isn't moving. How long should I give him? There were no veins or bleeding from where I peeled and I know he's probably tired from...

Until this forum, it had never occurred to me to hatch eggs sold for eating. People without birds, probably have no idea you can hatch eggs you buy, or at all even. Chances are most people wouldn't try hatching them.. unless they knew you didn't want them to . However, since you're worried...

I guess on day 20, I wouldn't touch them and just wait it out. Good Luck!!

This just depends on what people are looking for. I only buy pullets, so I prefer to shop through a hatchery for sexed chicks. I know people who have bought grown pullets too. Hard part would be finding a home for roosters.

How far along are they? Maybe you can candle them for movement?
