I moved into my house last August. No one has lived here for 10 years, so the garden is pretty much "virgin" soil, if you will. The 1st of March, I planted 25 red pontiac seed potatoes. We went through a couple of weeks of a little cool snap... 65 to 70 degrees, and lots of rain. My potato...
Nope... they rarely leave their duck house... hopefully, that will change, as we arm up... they have a ramp to outside... just aren't brave enough to use it, yet...
My buff Orpington hatched in September of 2013. She started laying eggs Feb 20, 2014. Laid for about 2 weeks, then abruptly stopped. Haven't seen an egg from her since, and she is not laying in the yard. Incidently, only 5 of my 18 Easter Egger chickens are laying eggs... they hatched the...
I have 9 female Pekins that were born November 18, 2013. About 5 weeks ago, I noticed my first duck egg... then another, then 2 on the same day. This continued for about a week, and then all egg laying stopped. What would make the 2 ducks that were laying, all of a sudden stop? The weather...

Might have been this way much longer than a week... kept them in their house over the winter... noticed it on the first warm day, when they came out to swim.
Other than the wobbling... she seems fine. It's been this way for at least, a week. She has been in the same house, with the same food and water as all the other ducks, and she has had that ring around her eyes since she was born. Ducks were from a very reputable national duck company.
I'm sure this question has been answered before... if so, my apologies. I have 9 Pekin ducks... They are 4 mos old... the other day, when I let them out to swim, I noticed one is real wobbly... walks around, like she's drunk. She also has a "ring" of no feathers around her eyes. I have a...
Hey... I like the rubber snake idea... I'm hoping the mess will be better this Spring, when they can go out and about... it's so cold here, now, they have to stay in their house all the time.
