Learning one day at a time how to keep chickens and other birds. I loved birds since childhood but was only able to acquire a species, chickens, about 4 years ago. It started with a broiler rooster, dinner turned pet, named Golden.
Since then I've acquired and lost four Blue Marans, five Wyandotte chicks, and a Wyandotte pullet.
I still have Golden, a white Leghorn hen, many Dominant breeds’ hens, and a Wyandotte hen.
I also have two indian runner ducks and the yard is shared with my parents’ flock of currently 5 isabrown and 7 golden comet hens.
I live with my parents.
I've lost 10 chickens and processed 2 chickens. Acknowledging my losses and keeping track of them is how I cope.
I am very forgetful so I post in forum and status whatever I found important enough to write down about my chickens(and other poultry if I have them)
Inconsistently online.
I yap a lot. This is something I’ve struggled my whole life and I will admit my summary skill is in the negatives. I am so sorry.
