Would it work if I rake all the gravel out? It's just dirt underneath, from these replies seems I should strongly consider a tarp over the run when fall comes along with the rain.- MooreFamilyFarm

Will my run begin to stink if......
Just curious if I need to add anything to the floor of our run. Its mainly gravel as you can see and has a bit of grass here and there. Its not covered, and we live in WA state where rain is abundant. Will the poo decompose easily on this surface or should I add anything to aid decomposition...- MooreFamilyFarm

Keeping the coop fresh
What is the best way to keep my coop from smelling funky and attracting rodents and flies? I have heard of sweet PDZ, some suggest the deep litter method, etc. What have yall found works best? Racoons!!!!
Ok, so what is the best way to keep these critters out of my coop? The coop we are building is enclosed and will have some ventilation points with wire covering them. Has anyone encountered them before around your coop? I hear they are fairly smart and persistent critters. Thanks- MooreFamilyFarm
