Hi everyone!
My first 5 chicks from a natural hatch were born a week ago!
I’ve been trying to figure out their sex, but it’s quite difficult. I’m posting a few photos—what do you think?
The quality isn’t great, but I hope you can still see something useful.
Thanks in advance!
What do you think of this feed?
This is the feed my trusted mill sells me (which I used to mix with grains but started feeding as is yesterday):

Interesting, thanks for sharing! I might try that. How do you provide the light? Do you have a large lighting setup, or would just a simple light bulb be enough?
Currently, I don't have outlets near the coop, but I can set something up since it's not too difficult for me to do—it's part of my...
I see now that the mixed grains might not be the best choice, and I’ll consider switching to a more balanced diet. I originally added the mixed grains thinking it would be better and more natural for them, my grandmother always fed them to her chickens, but I now realize that was a mistake. I...

Does that sound like a balanced diet for them?
Thanks again!
Hi everyone,
I have three hens (an Isa Brown, a Leghorn, and a Bantam Cornish), all hatched at the end of May, but none of them have started laying eggs yet.
The weather here started getting cold fairly early, around the end of October, and we’ve had a lot of rain since then. Now, they should...
Thank you so much for your suggestions! I hadn’t considered Cornish bantam before, but it makes sense. I’ll look into it more. Do you think her temperament is typical for this breed?
I’ll share more photos as soon as I can. What I can say for now is that she’s not a mix, as she comes from an...
Hi everyone,
I’m new to raising chickens and recently got this lively little hen. She has such beautiful feathers, and when I searched online, Google suggested she might be a bantam Wyandotte. However, her personality is completely different from what I’ve read about that breed!
She’s super...
